Taiwan’s Eva Air adds direct flights to Phuket from next April
As the tourist demographic matures and evolves, so does the airline mix landing in Phuket. Now Phuket’s direct international airlift is set to increase again with non-stop flights from Taipei, Taiwan on Eva Air.
The island’s airline traffic is already almost booked out for the next few months with Phuket International Airport officials asking airlines to add larger planes on their services to better use the available slots.
EVA Air opened the new service for reservations last week. It will offer a three-weekly service using an Airbus A330-200.
The new Eva Air services from Taipei will kick off next year on April 2, 2020, two weeks ahead of the Songkran holiday. Flights will depart on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday departing Taipei Taoyuan at 1105 and arriving in Phuket at 1420, according to timetable information provided by Airlineroute. The return flight will depart Phuket at 1530 and arrive in Taipei at 2100.
EVA’s Taipei-Phuket flight schedule is as follows:

“Phuket is a world-famous travel destination. With the launch of this new service, EVA will expand its Southeast Asian network to 13 destinations, offering 145 flights every week,” said EVA president Clay Sun.
EVA will be the only airline to offer a non-stop service from Taiwan to Phuket, which will significantly reduce the flight time by at least six hours, providing passengers with a more convenient travel option.
The wider picture provides another international airline with Eva’s connections into North Asia and over to North America.
One route that continues to be missing from the Phuket airlift scene remains Japan, which remains a market of high value but inconvenient connections are present.
